“Sunrise Flower Tours” read the sign in front of the local botanical gardens. It was a small place, not like the one I’d seen in big cities, but to say the volunteer staff was dedicated was an understatement. The unexpected gift of the tour was given to me by a friend who lovingly wanted to get me out of my doldrums but was conveniently unavailable to accompany me at such an early hour. I was reluctant but too polite to decline the gift.
Our little tour group followed the guide and trekked across the dewy lawn towards a garden still dark. As the sun crept over the horizon and the light grew, and I realized we were surrounded by an astounding amount of delicate white flowers. A wall of sweetness descended on me, and I couldn’t help but smile...finally. Our guide remarked that Jasmine is harvested at dawn to capture the flower’s essence at its peak. The space between darkness and light is where strength lies. What an unexpected and valuable lesson for me.
Jasmine is an enduring and classic floral aroma. The bright flowery top note finds harmony with rose, lilac, apple, and musk base notes.
