They called us Sugar & Spice when we were young. You get used to that sort of thing as a twin. Seeking our own identities, we ran from the nicknames. At least I, Miss Spice, did. Sugar would have gladly done anything to make me happy. But the years had come between us and it had been so long since we’d seen each other. Thanksgiving would the bridge that we needed.
I arrived early. Mom had left to run to the store, presumably for pie, but we both knew it was to give us space. I sat at the kitchen table with a mug of hot tea in my hand and a candle flickering nearby. The warm smell of pumpkin, cinnamon, and nutmeg was a comfort. The door opened. Hi Sugar, I whispered as a familiar face appeared. Taking a deep breath, I paused for whatever was to come next. Hi Spice, I heard back...with a smile. The hug that I had run from was the only one that I wanted now.
Sugar & Spice is a fragrance for homecomings. A warm, bold and buttery pumpkin embraces cinnamon, nutmeg, molasses, clove and allspice.
